Announcements for the week of May 21

We will be collecting layettes for Real Options (pregnancy center) for the next 3 weeks. Just pretend you are going to a baby shower. All things you might get for the new baby will be appreciated. Some of the items would be: Onesies, gowns, booties, outfits, receiving blankets (swaddling blankets), rattles, teething toys etc. Please, no diapers. But needed are diaper bags, and bottles. I know all of this is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your caring. Donations may be placed in the basket in the Narthex.

PRE-SCHOOL GRADUATION CELEBRATION BBQ will be held the morning of June 6th & 7th. We would love to have a few volunteers to help us bbq the hot dogs which will need to be done by 9:30. Please contact Tania if you can help. 408 997-4846

MITE DONATIONS of $55 were sent to Lutheran Women for mission projects.  Some goes to St John’s NV for scholarships at their childcare center and preschool for high school parents while they pursue completion of their high school education. The rest will support the new LCMS Mercy Youth Corp to meet living costs of young adults serving in mercy projects in underserved areas.  More information in the entry.  Help yourself to a Mite Box and fill it with “mites” – pocket change and even paper money.

THANK YOU to all who donated to “Homerun for Habitat” at the San Jose Giants/Thrivent night on May 15, 2017.    It was a great night for baseball as 250 people came to cheer on the San Jose Giants.  More than $6,000 was raised for Habitat at the game.  The Thrivent Community – Silicon Valley has raised $130,000 to date over the past 14 years for this great cause.
