PastorPastor Robert Weller is originally from suburban Detroit. He was raised at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Royal Oak, MI. In 1990, he graduated with a BA in Biblical Languages and English from Concordia College in Ann Arbor Michigan. In 1994, Pastor Weller graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne, IN. From August of 1992 until July of 1993, Pastor Weller served as vicar at Trinity Lutheran Church in Palo Alto, CA, where he also conducted campus ministry at Stanford University. During this year in Palo Alto, Pastor Weller met his wife Lisa (Grinstead).

​Upon graduating from the seminary in 1994, Pastor Weller was called to serve Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Logan, Utah. The Wellers were married in July of 1994 and in August of that same year moved to Logan, where Pastor Weller would serve the congregation as well as do campus ministry at Utah State University. During his time in Logan, Pastor Weller also served as Circuit Visitor to the state of Utah circuit. 

​In September of 1998, the Wellers were blessed with the arrival of a daughter, Emily. The Wellers would remain in Utah 2 more years. Then in May of 2000, Pastor Weller was called by Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church in San Jose, CA. Pastor Weller was installed in San Jose in August of 2000 where he continues to serve. The Wellers welcomed their second child, a son, Luke, in April of 2004. 

​During his tenure at Shepherd, Pastor Weller has served for 6 years as Circuit Visitor, chaired the district’s financial aid committee for church work students, and served in other district positions. Pastor Weller is also active in the preschool of the church where he leads chapel, oversees the staff, and reaches out to the families of the preschool.
