We continue our study of the Psalms with Psalm 3. Psalm 3 is one of the psalms that we are able to put into an historical context because it comes with a title and historical reference. Psalm 3 provides us with a great view into someone’s prayer who is under duress but relies upon the Lord for deliverance. How appropriate for us who as a world are experiencing a shared duress, but alas the Lord will deliver us!
Before you begin this study you might want to read 2 Samuel 15-19 since it provides the historical context of the psalm. David’s son, Absalom, seeks to usurp his father’s throne. Psalm 3 is David’s lament and prayer in the middle of those circumstances. I pray that the study is beneficial to you in your own fears and circumstances.
