Brothers and sisters in Christ,
Today’s lessons focus on the power of the Word of God. In the Old Testament lesson we are reminded that God’s Word goes out and accomplishes what He wills it to accomplish. Just as rain brings forth fruits from the earth, so God’s Word brings forth the fruit of faith in hearts by the power of Holy Spirit. The Gospel lesson, which serves as the sermon text today, is the parable of the Sower. God’s Word grows as it lands on good soil. The encouragement from today’s sermon is to savor the Word of God and it will form and transform.
We will continue with our two service schedule for at least a few more weeks. Keep an eye out for a letter from me about details of when we might move to one service outdoors.
